FIAT 500 - the car is offered only in a three-door body. The new “500th” shares the platform with FIAT Panda. By the way, the same "cart" is used by Ford Ka, which is available on the Ukrainian market only on order.
The decision to revive the FIAT 500 presented the designers with a difficult task. Nevertheless, the Italians would not have been Italians if they had not solved the problem so gracefully, as happened with the new Cinquecento (ital. cinque cento - "five hundred"). In the guise of the model, presented in 2007, the car produced from 1957 to 1975 is unconditionally guessed.
The external "retro-chips" of the new "500th" are round headlights, the absence of a false radiator grille, chrome-plated edging of the lamps, stamped wheels and many other interesting elements.
When looking at a three-door, there is no doubt that its appearance was created by a person, not a robot. By the way, this person was the company's staff artist Roberto Giolito, who was later offered the post of the brand's chief designer.
The choice of the body color of the model will become a real color therapy - about 17 coloring options are available for the FIAT 500, not to mention the possibility of an individual choice of the design of rims, stickers on the body and even the color of the key case. According to the company, if you use all the possibilities of "personalizing" the little car, then the number of possible combinations will exceed half a million!
The original interior detail in all trim levels is the plastic insert of the front panel, which is always painted in body color. The dashboard is a "three in one": the speedometer, the tachometer, and even the on-board computer display are combined in a large circle.
In Ukraine, FIAT 500 is offered in three versions: Pop, Lounge and Sport.
In addition to them, special designer and other limited editions like the FIAT 500 Gucci are also available to customers. The latter stands out for its original painting and interior design.
Already in the initial version of the Pop "500" receives anti-lock brakes (ABS), brake force distribution (EBD), emergency braking assistance, as well as a full set of airbags, including front, side, curtain airbags and even a pillow for the driver's knees.
The main external difference between the Sport version and the Pop and Lounge trim levels is a small spoiler. Nevertheless, "Sport" has something to surprise on the go, because the place of the City button, which in the usual versions facilitates the steering wheel (for ease of parking and maneuvering in the city), is occupied by a key with the Sport inscription. By pressing it, a demon enters the FIAT 500, which fills the “steering wheel” with heaviness, and makes the reactions of the gas pedal sharper.
Initially, the range of FIAT 500 engines consisted of three engines:
gasoline "four" with a volume of 1.2 liters (69 hp, 102 Nm);
a 1.4-liter gasoline unit (100 hp, 131 Nm);
turbodiesel with a volume of 1.3 liters (depending on the modification 75 and 95 hp).
In 2010, the list of engines was replenished with an 85-horsepower two-cylinder power plant 0.9 TwinAir, which is superior in efficiency to a 69-horsepower engine (6.4 liters in the urban cycle versus 4.7 liters), and in terms of thrust - a powerful 100-horsepower "sixteen-valve" ( 131 vs 145 Nm).
All motors work with manual gearboxes for five gears by default, except for the 1.4-liter engine, which is supposed to have a six-speed “mechanics”. As an alternative for any of the petrol versions, you can choose an automated "robot" Dualogic.
Serial production of FIAT 500 for European markets, including Ukrainian, has been established in Poland. In addition, the "five hundredths" are also produced at the company's plant in Mexico. Since 2007, both enterprises have produced more than 1,100,000 three-doors in total.
