FIAT Freemont - Under the Italian wing, the car moved in 2012, becoming another joint brainchild of FIAT and Chrysler. In Ukraine, the sale of Freemont, which is a slightly altered Dodge Journey started in early 2014.
It differs from the overseas twin FIAT Freemont in the settings of the suspension and hydraulic power steering. Alterations were aimed at ensuring that the behavior of the car on the road became more European, without excessive rolls, and the steering became more sensitive.
In addition, in the European market, including Ukraine, the car is offered with a FIAT-developed turbodiesel - a two-liter Multijet with a capacity of 170 hp. Peak engine thrust of 350 Nm is achieved in the range of 1,750-2,500 rpm. As a gearbox, a six-speed automatic is used, in the arsenal of which there is a manual mode.
The Italians also refreshed the interior of the model. In the FIAT Freemont cabin, compared to the Dodge platform, more solid materials are used. The convenience of exit and landing in the car is provided by doors, the opening angle of which is 90 degrees.
In the seven-seat configuration, the trunk volume is 145 liters. Nevertheless, with the help of a convenient interior transformation system (the seatbacks are easily folded back using the levers at the ends), the volume of the cargo compartment can be increased to 1,461 liters.
Automatic all-wheel drive is implemented using a multi-plate clutch. At speeds from 40 to 105 km / h, it specifically transfers part of the traction to the rear wheels, thereby reducing the risk of front end drift.
Ground clearance FIAT Freemont is 183 mm. The model is produced in Mexico.
