FIAT Panda - few people know that behind the "back" of the model there are already more than 30 years of history and over 4.5 million copies sold. The first brood of "Pandas", adapted to life in the urban jungle, appeared in 1980. It is noteworthy that since then the concept that was incorporated into the car has not changed much.

The third generation hatchback, which debuted in 2011, is still the same compact and economical car, with good visibility and without complexes regarding finding parking spaces.

Moreover, the Italians tried to deprive the current generation of "Pandas" of slowness and sluggishness inherent in the representatives of the animal world of the same name. The new economical and provocative 85-horsepower twin-cylinder engine of the TwinAir Turbo series is called upon to help.

Thanks to the turbocharging, the 0.9-liter engine produces a maximum thrust of 145 Nm from almost the very bottom - from 1,900 to 3,000 rpm. At the same time, in the combined cycle, the motor is ready to consume only 4.2 liters of gasoline.

Interestingly, all FIAT Pandas, in addition to such an engine, receive a mode ECO, which is activated by a separate button near the gearshift lever. Eco-mod automatically “extinguishes” the peak torque up to 100 Nm, thus reducing consumption and the amount of harmful emissions.

In addition, in Europe, you can order a naturally aspirated version of the 875 cc TwinAir engine (65 hp, 88 Nm), a 1.3-liter turbodiesel (75 hp, 190 Nm), as well as a 1.2-liter gasoline motor (69 hp, 102 Nm), inherited from the previous generation Panda.

Sales of five-door cars in Ukraine started in April 2013. So far, only versions with a 69-horsepower engine are supplied to our market, paired with which the “mechanics” work in five gears. Modifications with automated transmissions are available exclusively on request.

At the same time, Dualogic robotic gearboxes are provided for a surcharge only for those Pandas that have a TwinAir engine or its turbocharged modification under the hood.

The FIAT Panda is delivered to us in the only Easy package. As in the case of power units, other versions are offered only on an individual basis. According to the company, if you use all the provided opportunities for the original design of the car, then the number of model options will reach five hundred cars that differ from each other.

The list of Pand equipment for Ukraine includes ABS, EBD, front and curtain airbags, central locking with remote control, air conditioning, front electric windows, side mirrors with electric adjustment and heating, a CD / MP3 audio system with 6 speakers.

Nevertheless, even the initial equipment is not without bonuses. There should not be any particular problems with parking for a car with a length of 3.7 meters and a turning diameter of 9.3 meters, but in order to make this process even more easy, the Fiat people came up with an additional mode of operation of the electric power steering City, in which even a small child can turn the "steering wheel".

It is activated by a separate key on the "piano" of the center console. It is noteworthy that upon reaching a speed of over 35 km / h, the steering wheel is again filled with weight, thereby providing the necessary effort at high speeds.

The list of "goodies" for the European market includes Blue & Me multimedia with AUX / USB connectors and advanced synchronization of mobile devices via Bluetooth, a navigation system with a removable 4.3-inch HD display, stability control and hill start assistance.

In addition, the list of options for the five-door has a system for preventing frontal collisions at low speeds. Low Speed ??Collision Mitigation (LSCM). It is based on a laser sensor installed in the front of the body. With it, electronics monitors the distance behind obstacles in front of the car at speeds up to 30 km / h and, if necessary, automatically slows down the car until it comes to a complete stop, thereby insuring the unconcerned driver.
